Almost exactly a year ago, I learned to ski for the first time while I was in Beaver Creek for a wedding. It was a lovely trip - we stayed with my best friend & her boyfriend - but I ended up messing up my knee during our final day there and missing the wedding. Wah waaah. I had surgery and went through 8 months of physical therapy, and am proud to say I'm going skiing again this week. Bring on the mountains, puffy jackets, cozy fires, hot chocolate, cuddling, ski lodges and board games. I hope you have a great one!
Dark walls, brass accents, lots of art, pops of white and one bold color = perfection in my book. I'm hoping that my bathroom ends up looking at least 1/4 as chic as all of these spaces. Paint goes up today - wish me luck!
One of the big purchases on my list for our place is sconces/wall lamps for above the bed. We are currently using a floor lamp, but it's not right for the space, and it's quite inconvenient to only have lighting on one side of the bed (especially since my boyfriend loves to fall asleep with the light on..). I love the look of wall lamps when you don't have space for full sized nightstands and table lamps. Here are the five options that I've been trying to decide between:
With friends coming to visit at the end of March, I'm using every free weekend to cross some home improvement projects off of my list. Here are some sneak peeks if you want to see...
A few weeks ago I decided to paint the bathroom cabinets. I followed this great tutorial, and used Benjamin Moore's Chantilly Lace paint in a Semi-Gloss. It really brightened that beige right up!
This rug was my first estate sale success! I'm always looking for an excuse to treasure hunt and look through someone else's house. Tell me I'm not alone? This particular estate was beautiful. I had my heart set on another much bigger rug that had already sold, but I'm so happy with this one. It's at the cleaners now, but I'll photograph it better once it's back in our place.
The vanity nook received a major upgrade this weekend & I couldn't be more excited (see the before here). I knew that I wanted this space to be a big pop of color for the hallway, but I couldn't decide between Benjamin Moore's Pre-Dawn Sky, Mulberry, or Crushed Berries. I am in major love with this library from Lindsay Coral Harper, but I went with my gut and chose the third option. I just can't resist a great hot pink.
I might be crossing the border into brass overload soon, but I just can't stop. I finally pulled the trigger on some of my Etsy favorites:
